How do B2B Interior Designers utilize social media?

Are you targeting other businesses and more focused on a B2B strategy? Gone are the days where your only marketing strategy was to prospect businesses by cold calling.

Content marketing and social media are a hit for customers AND businesses!

But you won’t use your social media platforms the exact same way as if you were focusing only on individual customers. Let’s learn more!

1. Focus on the benefits

Make your offer and services understandable and interesting to your audience by focusing on the benefits that you are offering. Remember that you are communicating on social media, a place where people come to relax and be social.

This isn’t a place to get highly technical. Share high-quality information without being boring. Keep it light and fun and focus on the benefits that you will bring to your audience.

Let’s say you are designing office spaces for big corporations. Talk about how the design of your offices is made to increase productivity, to allow better interactions within coworkers. Share the relaxing room you love to create to support the employees.

Help them see the importance of hiring you and the final results they could potentially get.

2. Talk to other human beings

When we are in the B2B industry, we tend to forget that we are still in contact with humans.  Even if you are promoting your services to other businesses, the person that will be making the decision to hire you over some other firm is still well… a person!

Use a tone of voice that makes them feel understood, respond to comments and engage with conversations on the platforms.

Don’t be afraid to use your first name, to share a little bit more about who you are as a person to take down the walls and make it more human.

3. Make your business multi-dimensional

Your audience might have a business focus, but they are also many other things.

Are they also interested in eco-friendly alternatives? Do they support women’s empowerment? Are they travel addicts?

Every business and person is multi-dimensional. By making your business multi-dimensional as well you will be better able to relate with other people.

Start sharing about topics you and your ideal clients are passionate about. Explain the reasons behind those interests, too.

Your future clients will start to relate more to you and create a better relationship with your brand.

4. Share other B2B projects

Select projects that you have worked on that are related to the industry you are targeting. Help your audience project themselves into your work. You can also share other inspirations, even if they are not designed by you, to help create a more detailed picture of the style you like to work on.

5. Use the appropriate hashtags

A hashtag is a great search tool and a great way to be found by other accounts.

To know which hashtags to use, it is important to put yourself in the shoes of your audience.

What will they be looking for on social media?

Let’s say again you are designing office spaces. Hashtags such as #productivitytips #leadership #startuplife will be more beneficial than #interiordesign. Make sure of course to use hashtags that are still relevant to the content you are sharing!
