2018 Content Marketing Trends with Impact

This year is going to set a new standard for content marketing. So many new trends are emerging and we want to let you know about them. Below are just a few things that will be showing up on new and upcoming company websites!

Simple and Transparent

This year, 2018 is going to blow your mind with simplicity. Yes, that is right. Bold colors, gradients, big letters and concise content. We have all landed on one of those pages that just has way too much going on and it is immediately overwhelming. What happens next? You click away and go to the next website. This specific trend is aimed at making the consumers more engaged by keeping “the look” of the website intriguing and the information straight to the point and easily accessible. Once the website has these things, the visitors will be even more curious, stay on the site longer and maybe even purchase something! #Goals!

Documented Strategies

It is becoming common knowledge that more and more people do not like chatting over the phone. They would much rather search for their answers and find out all of the information they need online from articles, documents, etc. While this might lead to false information, newer businesses and companies are beginning to upload documents that lay out their business plans, marketing plans among others. This also is a part of being transparent, the first trend we mentioned. Businesses that do not want to go along with this new trend might suffer because they could potentially be “hiding something” from customers. Just something to think about.

More Videos!

Custom animated videos are taking the internet by storm this year. They provide a type of entertainment that is different than a live person in a video. Sometimes when a person acting is not great at portraying the business agenda, the video will not be watched all of the way through. Also, if the quality is off, than a customer will notice immediately and click away. Some of these details might seem trivial, but to consumers it displays how much time and care is put into the details of the company.

Virtual Content

Interactive websites are all the rage in 2018. Not only does it keep the website visitors mentally stimulated, it is extremely aesthetically pleasing. For example, when customers are able to scroll through a clothing website and place a certain article of clothing onto a virtual person, it makes the selection process easier. Being able to visually see how a shirt or a pair of pants will look makes a person more comfortable with buying clothing online or even physically going into the store to pick it up! Implementing a virtual feature on a website can do wonders for a company and will most definitely get more attraction and traffic for the website.

Keep up Distribution

Make sure that marketing is EVERYWHERE! There seems to be more and more places to advertise every year, so keeping up with all of these websites is crucial. Social media platforms are turning into the number one place to distribute business and company info. Depending on the industry the company is in, the best platform to advertise with more is subjective. Either way, distribution of the company and business needs to happen throughout all spaces. This can include outside-of-the-internet methods such as direct mailers, billboards, etc.

Blog Writing 101 - Trends for Today's Top Blogs

While blogging used to be seen as perhaps a juvenile past time, it is now for many brands a formative part of their content marketing strategy. SEO (search engine optimization) is a serious tactic for driving traffic to your website. Blogging plays a huge role in organic SEO. What this means, is your search ranking on Google or other search engines will increase. Blogging can sound overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be, just choose a couple trending blogs styles and follow that format in a way that it applies to your brand. Below are some of the trending blog formats we are seeing:

The Personal Brand Blog

If you offer a marketing product or service, perhaps you built an empire and want to share your tips and tricks along the way, Personal Brand Blogs have become widely popular for their consistent motivational quips. These types of blogs tend to demystify the road to success and all areas thereof. Entrepreneurs like Gary Vaynerchuk have only added to their success by sharing their pathway to success and helping others along the way through their ‘advice’ blogging and vlogging.

The ‘How To’ Guide Blog

Knowledge is power, walking your reader through how to do something can create brand loyalty and is a great opportunity for product placement. If you are an interior designer and write a “How to make the most of my studio apartment space” you have the chance to build a relationship with your potential client without even meeting them. “How to” blogs should open with personality and quickly flow into easy to follow instructions and tips. Think straightforward, more pictures and less wordy.

The Guest Blogger

Finding new perspective is key, inviting regular guest bloggers can shake things up and broaden your audience. Collaborating with professionals in like industries and/or having them endorse your product or service through a blog is a great way to increase organic traction. Perhaps they are a known influencer, having your brand name attached to theirs is great for business. Also, guest bloggers are very likely to cross share the content with their followers. Double the readers, double the fun!

The Interview

Though it can be lengthy, the straightforward question and answer format is likely to captivate readers all the while there is plenty of room for product placement and SEO creativity. Just like Guest bloggers, it is highly likely the interviewee will share the content as well.

The Lifestyle Blogger

Creating a Lifestyle Blog for either you or your brand has a more friendly and laid back approach when it comes to speaking to your readers and/ or customers. This blogging style tends to show the ins and outs of your daily life and befriend your readers along the way. What is your early morning routine, how do you pack for a trip to Tulum, what’s your favorite life hacks right now – are all examples of what goes into a Lifestyle Blog.

The List Blog
