Viral Content

Viral content is content that takes on a life of its own as it spreads throughout the internet giving you reach and engagement that you otherwise might not have gotten, or it would have taken longer to get. When it comes to social media content strategy, marketers always strive for viral content. Viral content is something that helps them stand out and expand the brand, but exactly how easy is it to get or create viral content? There are a few similarities between content that have gone viral before, and we looked at that to develop tips you can implement into your content.

Know Your Audience:

The best way to get content to go viral is to know your audience and to create content that they will want to share. To find out what content your audience responds to best you can do so through marketing research or trial and error. The more you post, the more data you will have on what your audience responds too and how they respond to it. Through this trial and error, you can establish the content that has the enormous potential to go viral then combined with timing and overall content reference you will have maximized your chance to go viral.

Emotions:

Content that has a play on emotion or pulls at our heartstrings is also the most likely to go viral. This is not to say that informative content does not go viral, it does, but the educational material can just be limiting because it only applies to those that have an interest in the article. With emotional content, there is a higher chance to appeal to a more significant group of people because it is not as limiting. Anything that is tear-jerking or has a cute factor is sure to have a broad reach.

Content that Gives Back:

When people share content, they are acutely aware of how the material reflects on them. If the content you are producing is content that makes the sharer look more social conscious are even smarter, they are more inclined to share it. Material that tends to have a higher worldview or work toward a more significant cause tends to get shared more often. Just look at the videos that go viral, very usually they are ones where people are helping others, or someone like Ellen DeGeneres is giving items away to unsuspecting guests. Any campaign that helps to improve the state of the world has potential to go viral.

Overall, content that tends to go viral is material that is relatable in some way. Sometimes this means a funny meme that we all look at and think “me too!” or sometimes it is a just cause that we all feel strongly towards. Whatever branding ideas or content you are creating, create it with your brand and brand voice in mind because even if your content does not go viral, as long as it is still quality content it will help you grow!

Social Media Trends Here to Stay

nov-15-1.png

There is no denying the importance that social media has had on our culture and its users. Through the use of social media brands now have a way to direct speak with their customers, something that used to only be granted to stores and service jobs. By having this direct contact brands can constantly create and recreate the image that the consumer has of them through a social media content strategy. It should come as no surprise that the trends that are currently showing longevity in social media are those that create a more seamless interaction between branding and social media marketing.

Emotion, Creativity, and Vulnerability

When it comes to a brand’s “voice” users are looking to connect to a voice that has emotion, vs. just trying to push product. Through posts that convey emotions and connect to people’s emotions there is a chance that that emotion can lead to them taking action, whether it be through a purchase or by following or liking a photo. Creativity works in a sense that the more creative posts are, the less it feels as though users are following or interacting with a brand, but rather a creative account that adds to their daily inspiration. Above all else vulnerability, users want the authenticity to know that the brand is run by people and not robots and helps with branding ideas.

Ads Without Disruptions

There have been studies done that on Snapchat, and now Instagram Stories, ads that seamlessly follow videos work better than ads that disrupt videos and begin in the middle. When the ad directly follows the video, users are more inclined to watch it all the way through, rather than to skip it. Not to mention that full screen ads are also doing significantly better and this is a trend that also will continue this is something that works to benefit advertisement for interior design.

The Influence of Social Influencers

Social influencers are a force to be reckoned with. They sit front row at fashion shows, are invited to movie premiers, and restaurant openings all part of partnership agreements. Social influencers allow brands that casual intervention of product into the lives of consumers. Social influencers allow brands to be exposed to more followers that they otherwise might not get the chance to be connected to. While the market for new social influencers is becoming saturated there is no denying the strength and pull that the industry heavyweights hold.

Paid Advertising

With organic growth slowing down, due to social channels putting a push toward paid reach and advertising dollars. With most users having more than one social channel it is no surprise that the best way to connect with them is through advertising on social media. Paid advertising, and digital marketing strategy, on social media lets brands choose who, when, and where their ads show up and for how long. Advertising on social media lets their ads get access into the everyday lives of their target market.

Live-Streaming

Live stream has had a spike in peak use during 2017. With Instagram incorporating live streaming on their app, as well as, on on Facebook users are taking to live streaming to share important moments of their lives and influencers are utilizing live streaming to showcase brands. Live streaming is letting brands create almost mini segments on their products either through direct showcases or through product set up and use. Live streaming also gives users that chance to interact with brands in that moment and ask questions and get answers in that moment.

Social media is all about creating seamless interactions and moments that let users get a better look at the brand and who they are.

Why Is Content Marketing Essential for Design Mind Brands?

oct-11-1.png

Content marketing is the combination of content (images and text) integrated in a way that is built to market to a key group and through a marketing plan that has an end goal in sight.

When we think of content marketing we often just think of them as photos on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. but what if we changed our thinking? And saw it more as an opportunity to be editorial. By creating the opportunity to be editorial we are taking the responsibility of our brand and creating opportunities for our self in brand advertising.

When we look at content marketing as an editorial we are creating stories or extensions of stories with every post. Each post helps us further extend our brand and crate an image, one that resonates with our followers, and hopefully carries an authentic voice about the brand. By utilizing content and brand marketing, we are able to share stores and experience that not only help to inspire our followers, but also create a call to action. Content marketing can help make our call to action seem more authentic vs. an image of just pushing our agenda or product. Authenticity is key and it is what creates loyalty and longevity in content marketing. Through an authentic voice we are able to differ ourselves and our content. Making our content specific to the users it will reach. By being design focused we are always conscious of how space looks and how we can better our space and situation. By thinking of our content as editorial based it is easier to plan our content in a way that is appealing to us, our brand, and the viewers.

Content marketing lets us put our best photo forward and us our strengths in design, visuals, and being creative and utilize that strength to create campaigns, posts, and interactions to strength our online presence and branding ideas.
